Thank you DCCI

I have read about homestay for the past ten years.

I realised the potential in Jagoi Serikin then, but unfortunately, or rather fortunately I was not sure of how to bring about the opportunity in Serikin.

I have told my Serikin folks about it. Nobody ever took the initiative. It has to be me to start the ball rolling.

A similar initiative, I took, for the church. Now the Christian community has grown from several to 98 families. Thanks to my brother Johnday, for donating his 2-acre land for the church.

It was about two months ago, when Salam called me whether I was interested to attend a Homestay course. "Ofcourse I want. Count me in!", I quickly quiped.

The following day, Mr Terrence Temmengong, the executive secretary of DCCI confirmed my participation.

The two day course was indeed very informative and motivating. Haji Mahmud, the instructor, was very keen to work with me and Serikin, to further boost Sarawak Homestay business.

Haji Mahmud of Abas Homestay, is the President of Sarawak Homestay Association.

He has promised that he will do his best to assist, should I come up with my village homestay.

Last Sunday, Dato Peter Nansian, our ADUN for Tasek Biru, had promised to recommend for our application to be approved.

Here we go Tuan Haji, in six hours we will have our first meeting in Kampung Jagoi Serikin.

Thank you Salam, DCCI and Terence Temmengong for this opportunity. It is for BiSerikin.
